Mortlach, Assiniboia, Canada
July 24, 1905

My darling little girl,

I will answer your kind and welcome letter and was glad to hear from you and to know that you like your new home. You want to be a good girl and then like your dear papa Frank says he will let me go and see you soon as we can get things fit up so I can get away. How were the rest of the children when you left the home? I got a letter from Mr. Merrill the other day and he said that you were gone from the home. You write as often as you can and you let that lady to let you write to your poor mama. How far are you from Owatonna and what direction is it from there and what road is it on? Are you living in town or are you on a farm? I want you to write and tell me and papa Frank all of the news in your next letter and I will send you same in your next letter that you can say is from Canada. The place that I live in is a pretty small one. It is a new town and it is not as big as Backus and you see it is not much of a place yet. I will close for this time.

From your loving mother,
Mrs. A.F. Scribner
Mortlach, Canada

Write soon darling little girl.
